H. Bruce McEver

H. Bruce McEver, author of A Place by Water, was raised in Atlanta, Georgia, where he attended Woodward Academy and graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was an exchange student at the Technische Hochschule in Hanover, Germany, and received an MBA from Harvard Business School. Bruce is an investment banker and the Chairman of Berkshire Capital Corporation, a firm he founded in 1983.

Bruce started writing in workshops in New York City with Hugh Seidman, Pearl London, Katha Pollitt, Brooks Haxton, David Lehman, and J.D. McClatchy. He has taken writing seminars at Sarah Lawrence College with Thomas Lux and Kevin Pilkington. His work has been published in Ploughshares, Westview, The Berkshire Review, The Cortland Review, and The Connecticut River Review. He lives in New York City and Salisbury, Connecticut on Utopia Farm.
