Sixth Annual Camber Press Poetry Chapbook Award Winner Announced

Peekskill, NY, September 30, 2011 — Camber Press is proud to announce the winner of the Sixth Annual Camber Press Poetry Chapbook Award. Nicholas Gulig's entry West of Center was chosen by final judge Stuart Dischell from a group of unidentified submissions.

Born In Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Nicholas Gulig is a graduate of the University of Montana and the Iowa Writer's Workshop. He has published work in various journals across the country including CutBank, FIELD, ForkLift Ohio, The Columbia Poetry Review, and The Colorado Review. The recipient of the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg and Ruskin Art Club awards for poetry, he currently lives in Bangkok, Thailand as a Fulbright Scholar where he is studying southeast Asian poetry.

Poet and final judge Stuart Dischell writes of this collection:

"What a delight to read these spare, elegant, transformative poems whose speakers live in an alchemical landscape at once physical and metaphoric."

Along with publication, Mr. Gulig also receives an award of $1,000 and ten copies of his book. A scheduled release date of Winter 2012 is planned.
